Yoga 101 will…

  • Teach you to do postures safely

  • Tailor postures to your body and your needs

  • Teach you common poses systematically

  • Prepare you to take any yoga class

  • Teach you how to engage specific muscles, build global strength and balance, and increase mobility/flexibility.

About Sara

Sara fell in love with yoga through the precise approach of Iyengar Yoga. Her goal in teaching is to help students feel their bodies working and learn yoga techniques that help them build strength and mobility in every posture.

Her favorite part of teaching is seeing students light up when they feel a specific muscle engage, understand how a posture should feel, or do something they never thought they could.

At Shine, Sara teaches the studio’s Yoga alliance certified Yoga Teacher Trainings, Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings, workshops, and weekly classes. She has also been teaching a deeply anatomical class called The Details since she opened the studio in 2015.

Sara recieved her Yoga Teacher Certification through Kripalu, and two advanced certifications of 500 hours each through Yoga Medicine and Jason Crandall. She is also an ayurveda counsellor, and has taken thousands of hours of additional trainings from teachers of all styles and disciplines.
