Connection.

It was Namaste that hooked me on yoga.

Or, more accurately, the most common Western translation: I see and honor the light in you. It's the same as the light in me.

It's a worldview that I believe in my bones and try to live by.

If we go about our days looking for the light in each person--friend, family, acquaintance, stranger--how much gentler the world would be.

If we went one step further and valued that person, honored not what they do, but who they are--their light--how much more respect would there be in our world?

And if, we also honored the light in our own selves, not because we have all these things that distinguish us, all these achievements, but because we can see, that when all the roles and fixings are stripped away, we are all just a variation of beautiful light, how much more connected would we be?

This is what yoga is, or at least is to me.
