Join us to make your life better through an individualized diet, yoga and sleep plan.

The Jumpstart is a seasonal program embracing the food and rhythms of the season to make positive change easier.

The Jumpstart includes:

  1. 60-minute, one-on-one session with Sara

  2. One In-person or Live-streamed/ recorded Retreat to kick off your Individual Jumpstart. The retreat includes a gentle yoga class, a cooking demonstration, and a light meal, followed by sharing and preparation for the Jumpstart.

  3. In-Studio Option: Three weeks of unlimited yoga in the studio and a recorded class each week that is relevant to the week’s content.

    Not In-studio Option: Three prerecorded or live streamed/recorded classes per week, jumpstart-specialized classes.

  4. A manual to help guide your jumpstart.

  5. Weekly videos with a specific focus, lecture, and demonstration.

    Topics include Food as Medicine, How to Rest and Sleep, Rituals to Guide Your Day and Reset Your Body’s Rhythms, Ayurveda for North America, Resources and Strategies to Maintain what You’ve Gained.

  6. A guided, gentle detox for the first three days of your Jumpstart to reset your mind and your body.

  7. A plant-based diet, recipes, and cooking demonstrations using summer’s bounty.

  8. Community-wide support and celebrations both in the studio and via a non-social media online community.

Jumpstart FAQs

Is the day of the Retreat the first day of my Jumpstart?

Yes. The retreat is designed to prepare you for the remaining weeks of the Jumpstart.

When should I have my one-on-one meeting with Sara?

The one-on-one is to help customize the Jumpstart for you. We can meet before the retreat, but it probably makes the most sense to get started first and then we can tweak the program to fit best with your life and what you need.

How do I book my appointment with Sara?

Do I have to do yoga every day?

Nope. I’ve seen a regular yoga practice be a touchstone for people over and over again, and it was regular yoga that changed my life, so I am giving you the structure within a limited time frame to help you get on that track, but we are here to support you, not scold you.

Is the cost of yoga included?

Yes. Three weeks of unlimited yoga package is included.

What if I already have a package?

I will pause it, and restart it after the end of the Jumpstart.

Is food included?

The food that is provided through the cooking demonstration and shared meal is included, but you are responsible for all other food.

Can I do this online?

Yes! The summer Jumpstart is great to do at the beginning of a vacation or if you don’t live near the studio. If you have obligations in the summer that get in the way of the retreat, the live-streamed retreat or the recording of it can work for you.

You can do the training completely online—retreat, one-on-one, and classes or you can mix it up and do some of it online and some in person.

Meet Your Teacher

Sara is the founder of Shine, and has been teaching students of all ages, abilities, and experience levels for the last seven years.

Sara stared the Jumpstart program for herself as a means of healing her body and mind after a full year of cancer treatment left her feeling scared of a reoccurrence, exhausted, and out of control.

She started sharing the Jumpstart before she opened the studio!

  • Sara opened Shine’s doors as a means of helping other people who had gone through a life changing experience physically, mentally or emotionally to find joy and steadiness again. This has always been her mission and still is, eight years later.

    Sara is known for her deeply focused alignment and anatomy-based classes (The Details), her restorative classes, and her flow classes (Flow to Rest, Intentional Vinyasa)

    She is a Certified Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist and has eight years experience helping individuals better understand their bodies and heal through private sessions.  

    Sara also taps into her experience as a professional writer, researcher, and federal behavioral health program developer to design trainings, workshops, and programs. Her work as a teacher at the University-level has helped to make her Yoga Teacher Training program exceptional.
