How Personal Sessions Have Helped

  • My physical therapist referred me to Sara after my knee replacement. It opened a whole new world for me. She taught me how to engage muscles I didn't even know I had, to notice and address compensations and to get all of my muscles playing together. This was way beyond knee therapy. The biggest thing was the work we did with our feet. I don't worry about falling now, at all.

  • I came to Sara at a really difficult time in my life. I had just had a baby and while I was pregnant I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The first thing that mattered, so much, was that she had been exactly where I was. She truly understood and knew how to support me without the platitudes or pity that were exhausting me. She developed a complete plan for me--yoga, breathing techniques, nervous system regulation, nutrition, and sleep. And Ayurvedic practices that supported my specific tendencies and the effects of the cancer treatment I was doing then. The resources she provided were phenomenal. I still go into my portal to do my breathing technique video.

  • My girlfriend started going to Sara for private yoga sessions--just to learn how to do postures correctly. She thought I should do it to. What we ended up doing was stress management and post game recovery. It helped me stay focused after an injury that took me out for 3 months and helped with the injury. She has done so much training, including Yoga for Athletes with Yoga Medicine. I was in good hands.

FAQs

How is this different from physical therapy? We work with the whole body ( and the nervous system) rather than focusing on just the injured part. Many physical therapists refer to us and many clients do physical therapy either simultaneously or after physical therapy—the most important time for long-term healing of an injury.

Do you take insurance? Not directly, but we provide receipts that you can submit to your insurance company or employer. And we take Independent Health “Health Extra Debit Cards.”

What if I can't lie on my stomach/back? What if I can’t get up and down? Every position has alternatives. We work with your body's needs.

How many sessions will I need? Most people see significant change in 4-6 sessions. Complex conditions may need ongoing support.

What is the benefit of adding in an Ayurveda or Menopause Coaching session? Both provide a lifestyle plan that will help support your goals. Both are also tailored to your specific needs and include an assessment and detailed plan with recipes and resources. Nutrition, stress management, and sleep are essential for healing.
