Yoga is one of the best nervous system regulators we have. Daily practice helps regulate our hormones and teaches us how to access our parasympathetic nervous system on demand all of which helps us deal with difficult situations better, sleep better, and manage the demands of daily life with more ease.

The physical practice of yoga helps you pay attention to how your body works. Shine’s classes in particular are geared towards body awareness and using the knowledge you gain in class to be stronger, more flexible and more aware of how your body works both on and off the mat.

Old friends, it’s been a while. We were closed for longer than expected and the studio is different. I hope you will love it just as much as the old version of Shine, and maybe even more. Get the Founders Package and settle in.

Meet with Sara to talk about your goals and how to make them happen.
If you decide to become a Shine member, we’ll meet every quarter to reassess and plan your path.

And most importantly helps you to invest in yourself.
From there, it’s just a matter of keeping steady, with our help.

The last two years have made yoga much more accessible. We’ve discovered that when we live stream a class or even watch a recording by an expert teacher, we still benefit from yoga. Very technical or restorative classes are sometimes even better and more intimate from our own homes. Technology, rather than being a barrier, keeps us connected.
And it sure makes fitting in your daily practice easier. We offer classes of all lengths and styles to help you build the habit and fit yoga into your day.

Our modern lives give us access to lots of styles of yoga. But more choice doesn’t mean better outcomes. In fact, what I hear over and over from students is that they are overwhelmed by the options they have in their lives and in yoga. They want to simplify and use what works for them.
I will be your guide. Every new Shine student has the opportunity to meet one-on-one for a free 15 minute session where we talk about your goals and create a path for you to easily integrate yoga into your lives.

We are a technique heavy studio because knowledge makes yoga possible for everyone. It gives you control of your body and your experience doing yoga. We are committed to you having a light bulb moment in every class you take.

There are many styles of yoga.
You may have heard these names Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar, Yin, Restorative, Kundalini.
While each of these styles has a different emphasis—Vinyasa is more choreographed with few holds and more constant movement; Hatha includes more held postures to increase strength and flexibility, Iyengar focuses on anatomical alignment and body awareness, Yin and Restorative are both focused on calming the nervous system and easing physical tension; and Kundalini emphasizes targeted repetitive movements to produce a specific energetic response—they all have the same roots.
The truth is that the best yoga classes are all of these things. Yoga is breath and body awareness that supports strength, mobility and balance while targeting our nervous system through specific techniques.
What is Shine Yoga? It’s all these things.

Move
One of the great gifts of yoga is syncing movement with breath. Find your joy in classes that get you in the zone. Our Steady Vinyasa, Shiny, Happy People, movement portion of The Details, and the flow part or Flow to Rest all emphasize movement as a pranayama practice and meditation in motion.
Move classes are available for all levels and abilities.

Learn
There is a concept in yoga called Nyasa which means to place your mind and attention in a part of your body. We mix our expertise in anatomy and technique into detailed classes to help every student learn to do yoga safely and progress in postures, strength, and range of motion. We aim to have you come out of every class having learned something, but it is a key focus in The Details and Resilience.
Suitable for everyone, all you need for these classes is attention and curiosity.

Rest
We have forgotten how to rest. And it is killing us. We have an epidemic of stress, worry, and sleeplessness in our culture. These classes use neuroscience backed approaches to calm your body, mind, and heart.
Find peace in Flow to Rest, Restorative, Yin and MFR, Gentle and Kind, Yoga Nidra, and the resting portion for the evening Steady Vinyasa.
All classes include a guided relaxation and all evening classes are designed to help you begin to downgrade. It’s a daily structure we’ve lost and that we need.

Begin the journey with your complimentary, personalized 15 minute goal setting and yoga prescription session with Sara. Members will check in every 3 months to make adjustments and set new goals.
One-on-One Private Yoga Session
Online or in-person, we begin by talking about your goal for private sessions, followed by a range of motion and strength evaluation. We’ll carve out a practice together, with personalized step-by-step instruction. Within 24 hours of your session, you’ll receive your home practice document so you can apply what you learned on your own. A recording of online sessions will also be available. With each subsequent session we will measure progress.
